ALUMINIUM FRAME

Unlike steel or timber, bird aviaries made with aluminium frames will not rust, rot nor deteriorate in the weather. Your Royal Rooster bird aviary will look just as great in many years’ time due to the durable materials that are used in its construction. Royal Rooster’s specially designed aluminium is made with u-shaped channels in which the mesh or mini-fluted iron slots in directly. This means that there are no ugly fixings on either side of the panels to keep the materials in place. No welds or sharp edges on the mesh to be concerned about.

Black Frame Optional Upgrade: The aviaries as standard are made with silver (clear anodised) aluminium framework, however black anodised frame is also available as an optional upgrade.

GALVANISED OR STAINLESS STEEL MESH

The sides of the Avian Palace with Small Extension are enclosed with galvanised steel mesh. As standard these bird aviaries are made with 25mm x 25mm mesh witha wire thickness of 2.5mm. This prevents large birds from escaping and the wire thickness of 2.5mm means it can’t be chewed through by most birds. Galvanised Mini Mesh Optional Upgrade: If you have smaller birds then ‘Mini Mesh’ which has 12.5mm x 12.5mm squares and has wire thickness of 1.24mm may be needed. This prevents smaller birds escaping and has thick enough wire that cannot be chewed through by smaller birds. Stainless Steel Optional Upgrade: For those wanting stainless steel mesh (Grade 304) this is available in either 25.4mm x 25.4mm x 2mm or 12.7mm x 12.7mm x 1.6mm.

For those wanting a black finish to their mesh, your choice of mesh size and finish can also be powder coated in a black finish.

MINI CORRUGATED IRON

The side walls, back wall and part roof of the Aviary Palace with Small Extension is clad with Zincalume (silver) mini corrugated iron. This is Bluescope steel made in Australia and is not cheaper imported materials. A large section of the roof is also mesh to allow sunlight to shine through. A full solid roof is also available. Colorbond Optional Upgrade: The Avian Palace with Small Extension is also available in a choice of 4 Colorbond colours. These colours can also look great with the black frame upgrade. These colours include Woodland Grey, Pale Eucalypt, Deep Ocean and Monument with custom Colorbond colours also available upon request.

SKIRTING/ KICKBOARD

These aviaries can also have a 30cm skirting/ kick-board incorporated around the entire perimeter of the cage. This can provide extra protection for your birds when they are on the ground from visiting animals. Also helps to keep out rodents.

INSULATED ROOF OR WALLS

These aviaries are also available with an insulated roof and/ or insulated walls. This is done by using 7mm silver backed insulation that is sandwiched between the mini fluted iron walls on the outside and aluminium composite panel on the side and underside of the aviary.

IRON & MESH ROOF

The first part of the roof of the Aviary Palace with Small Extension (2.3m long) is made of mini corrugated iron, providing shade from the sun and shelter from rain in the wet months. The two extension sections of the aviary are made from mesh to allow extra sunlight to shine through in this section of the aviary. A full solid roof is also available. Weather Shield Optional Upgrade: The Avian Palaces are made standard with three solid walls at the rear of the aviary and 2.3m of solid roof. For those wanting extra protection for their birds in the cold or wet weather, an optional ‘Weather Shield’ can be purchased (as pictured).

OPEN FLOOR DESIGN

These aviaries do not have a floor as standard. You may choose to put your aviary on a concrete slab to keep out rodents and to have a nice near floor in your aviary. If this is not an option and you are concerned with rodents, then a mini mesh floor may be required. Mini Mesh Floor Optional Upgrade: If you plan to put sand, gravel or bark chips on the ground in your aviary, you may wish to put a mini mesh floor down first to prevent mice from digging their way under. Galvanised mini mesh or stainless steel mini mesh floors are both available.

ACCESS DOOR

The Palace style of aviary has a large door at the front allowing easy entry into the aviary. This door is 1.66m high. Safety Entry Cage Optional Upgrade: If you are concerned with your birds escaping when you open the door, you may wish to purchase a ‘safety entry cage‘ which is also called a ‘safety catch’ with your aviary to prevent accidental losses. You simply walk into the safety entry cage, close the door behind you before you open the door on the main aviary. This cage needs to be purchased separately in addition your main bird aviary

STAINLESS STEEL PERCH HOLDERS

Stainless steel perch holders are available for fixing to the mesh walls of your aviary. These suits tree branches 0.5cm – 4cm in diameter. Perches not included.

AVIARY ACCESS FEEDERS & CLIP ON BOWLS

Royal Rooster’s own designed ‘Aviary Access Feeder’ enables you to feed your birds from outside your aviary, no need to go inside. Reduce the risk of escape of your precious birds. Easy slide up window for access, viewing and can be locked for security of your birds. Three timber perches of various sizes to cater for different sized birds. Easy to install to any style of aviary, regardless of the mesh size. Includes 2 x 400ml (1 pint) removable stainless steel bowls. Suitable for water, seeds, fruit or vegetables. Royal Rooster also has stainless steel hook on bowls available in two sizes: 280ml and 560ml.

BIRD SHELVES

Add extra interest and landing locations for your birds with a range of shelves that come in three styles. The Timber Style Shelves are made with an aluminium frame and inset with ‘mod-wood’ timber composite lengths. The Standard Shelves are made with an aluminium frame and inset with aluminium composite panel. The Feeders Shelves are made with an aluminium frame and inset with aluminium composite panel with a special cut out for a 300ml stainless steel bowl. These can be installed either in the housing or extension area of your aviary.

ANCHOR KITS

It’s important to secure your cage to the ground to prevent strong winds from lifting and damaging your cage. You can order anchor kits to suit concrete sleepers or slabs, treated pine sleepers or for securing directly into the soil. The concrete and timber anchor kits consist of thick angle brackets, bolts and screws to secure your cage along the ground cross bars of the cage. The soil kit consists of 450mm hardened steel star droppers/ pickets which are driven into the ground and then secured to the ground cross bars of the cage using bolts, washers and nuts. Note that the soil anchor kit may not be suitable if your ground is very rocky or sandy. Additional anchoring may be required in extreme weather, so please assess your situation accordingly.

DELIVERY INSURANCE

This covers the replacement or repair of your aviary if damaged in transit with TNT as well as the freight to transport damaged parts back to us and new parts back over to you. Only $15 for peace of mind. Highly recommended.

ASSEMBLY REQUIREMENTS

These aviaries are straightforward to put together and come with detailed, illustrated instructions. You’ll need a rubber mallet, an electric drill and a number 2 Philips-head driver. If you order a aviary with mini mesh walls, a pair of pointy nose pliers is also handy.

LEAD TIME & FREIGHT

All aviaries are made in our purpose built premises at 43 Theen Ave, Willaston in South Australia. Lead times on orders can vary depending on the time of the year and other factors out of our control. Please click here to see that latest lead time on orders. TNT generally takes between 1-2 weeks to deliver items once picked up from us. Picking up from a TNT depot rather than having your aviary delivered to your home can save quite a lot in delivery costs. So that is also an option when you go to check out. If you live in SA you’re most welcome to pick up your order from our premises at 43 Theen Ave Willaston.
